Welcome to the Mid-South Chapter of the American Liver Foundation web site. Our chapter provides services to anyone in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi in hopes to enrich the lives of people affected or infected with liver disease.

The American Liver Foundation is the nation’s leading non-profit organization promoting liver health and disease prevention. ALF provides research, education and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis.

The American Liver Foundation was founded in 1976 and works to improve the lives of individuals and their families affected by liver disease by offering important programs and services.The American Liver Foundation’s chapter network creates and conducts educational workshops and seminars, offers support groups, works with local media and community groups to increase awareness of liver disease, meets with local state and federal policy makers to affect positive change, and sponsors numerous fundraising events to raise money for research, education and advocacy.

ALF’s chapters build bridges connecting patients to health care providers and services. Chapters have done much to enrich the lives of people with liver disease and help their families.

The Mid-South Chapter creates and conducts educational workshops and seminars, offers support groups, works with local media and community groups to increase awareness of liver disease. The Chapter meets with local, state and federal policy makers to initiate positive change, and sponsors numerous fundraising events. We build bridges connecting patients to health care providers and services.

In the Mid-South approximately 200,000 individuals are infected with hepatitis or other liver disease. We have one of the nation’s highest incidences of hepatitis A cases. The waiting list for liver donors has tripled in the last five years.

The Mid-South Chapter derives its support from the generosity of private and corporate contributions through direct donations, memorials and honorariums, sponsorships and participation in special events hosted by the chapter each year.

The Mid-South Chapter is governed by a local volunteer Board of Directors, each elected to a minimum 2 year term in office
